Lunch at Bailey's

Ian chose the roast beef and I ordered fettuccine. Both meals were enormous. Ian helped me eat some of mine but still I couldn't polish it all off. Their lunch time menu is such good value. Who would eat anywhere else.

Our half-day tour of Norfolk Island

This tour was led by Trent Christian who is an eighth generation member of the Fletcher Christian family. Trent collected us from the resort in a mini bus. He did all the driving and talking.

If ever there was a perfect person to be a tour leader then Trent is your man. He is such a likeable character and has so much knowledge about the island and its history. Plus he has a beautiful voice which he uses to entertain people too.

Trent is the only person on the island who was actually born on Pitcairn Island. We soon discovered that "Pit-kern" is the way to pronounce the word.

Trent drove us all over the place, stopping so we could take photos. We soon started to realize that we wanted to come back later to every place he stopped the bus at. The scenery was magnificent. The facts he told us are detailed here in dot form and in no particular order:

Here are a few of the photos we took that afternoon:

The tour ended at 5 p.m. and we thought it had been fabulous. We had been given a sneak peek into what the island offers. We couldn't wait to get back into our little car and head off out again.

But the next job at hand was to have some dinner back at our cottage. We were booked in for the Wonderland By Night tour and it was due to start at 7:15 p.m.
